Having recently seen The Hunger Games, I thought I would revisit a post from last year – when I considered some of my favourite book to screen moments.
Which of your favourite books have been captured on film? Was the movie any good?

My vote is for the admittedly sentimental DOCTOR ZHIVAGO — if for no other reason to suspend disbelief and enjoy the good doctor’s choices in women. Lara deserves more than a theme, I’ll tell you. I’d call Julie Christie “comrade” any day of the week.
Droctor Zhivago is one of my favourite movies – but I have never read the book. I always loved that scene where the palace (or whatever it was) was covered in ice. And I think this movie is one of the reasons I have the whole kink for star-crossed, angsty love affairs.
